Notifications & quiet hours
What you get by default and how to mute things.
WMB notifications are quiet on purpose. We never spam, never use streak panic, never “don’t lose your streak” guilt. Here is exactly what is on, what is off, and how to change either.
On by default
Check-in reminder: only on scheduled days you haven’t checked in yet, at the time you set next to its switch in Profile → Notifications. Until you set one, it is 6pm.
@mentions in discussion.
Activity announcements: when an owner pins a new message.
Committed notices: a note in your inbox at your first miss, then warnings at 3 and 4 misses in 30 days.
Being noticed: when someone likes your check-in or sends you a cheer.
Your people: when someone joins one of your activities (inbox only), comes back after time away, or reaches 7, 30, 100 or 365 days.
Your weekly buddy, the weekly story for each activity, and shared sessions starting.
Sunday Reflections: your week, in the app and by email.
Group gone quiet: when nobody in an activity has checked in on its last 2 scheduled days, one nudge by push and email during its next scheduled day, at most once every two weeks.
Off by default, opt in if you want
All discussion messages: every new message in any activity.
Emoji reactions on your messages.
Never sent
Panic notifications about losing a streak. Advertising, or anything on behalf of anyone else.
Email from us
Besides the emails the service needs (sign-in links, receipts, security notices, Committed warnings), we send a few optional ones: your Sunday Reflect email, a look back on January 1, a note while you are getting started or if you have been away, and a heads-up when an activity you are in has gone quiet.
Each has its own switch in Profile → Notifications: “Your week and your year”, “Getting started and coming back”, and “Group gone quiet”. Every one of them also has an unsubscribe link that works without signing in.
Quiet hours
No push notifications during your local quiet window, 10pm to 8am. Anything that arrives is waiting in your inbox in the morning. You can turn quiet hours on or off from Profile → Notifications.
Per-activity overrides
You can mute discussion in a single activity from its Activity settings without changing your global preferences. Useful when one activity gets very chatty.
