Block, report, and how moderation works on the platform.

Public groups, check-in notes, and reactions create a real harassment surface. WMB ships with the primitives to handle it. Not more, not less.

Block

You can block someone in one activity, or in every activity you share with them. Their check-ins and messages are hidden from you there, and their mentions no longer notify you.

Blocking changes what you see. It does not hide your own posts from them. The block is silent: no notification is sent to the person you blocked.

Report

Any message in an activity’s discussion can be reported, including one deleted in the last 7 days. Reports go to a moderation queue staffed by the founding team, and a report about self-harm or violence alerts the team straight away.

Nobody else learns who reported a message, including the activity owner. A message you report is hidden from you immediately, whatever the outcome.

What activity owners can do

Remove a member, pin or delete messages, transfer ownership, archive the activity. With WMB+, also mute a member.

What activity owners cannot do

See your Reflect journal. See your check-in notes from any activity they don’t belong to. Identify the person who reported a message. Read a support note you sent to someone else.

If you are struggling

WhereIsMyBuddy is not a crisis service, and nobody is watching for warning signs in what you write. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line right away.

Age

WhereIsMyBuddy is for adults 18 and over. You confirm you meet the age requirement when you create an account.
