Habit groups

Sit every day, with a small group sitting too

Meditation is the easiest habit to skip without noticing. There is no gym bag by the door and no book on the table. Ten minutes just does not happen, and then it has been a month.

A meditation group on WhereIsMyBuddy keeps the practice in view. You sit, you check in, and the others see it. Some days that is the only reason you sit, and that is fine.

What a group can look like

  • Ten minutes a day

Daily, Gentle. Any method, any app, or none.

  • Morning sit

Daily, before anything else. Log the minutes if you like the count.

  • Sitting together

Someone starts a shared session at a set time, others join, and when it ends everyone has a check-in ready. The nearest thing to a group sit when you are in different places.

  • Five minutes on weekdays

Weekdays, for people who want a smaller start.

What a check-in looks like

A mindfulness check-in can log minutes. The group sees your tick and the minutes, nothing else. Notes are optional and stay with the members.

Gentle or Committed?

Most meditation groups should be Gentle. Pressure and sitting still do not mix well for many people, and on Gentle a missed day only resets your streak.

Choose Committed if the group agrees it wants the limit: five missed scheduled days in thirty and you are out for a week.

A private look back

Every Sunday you get a short look at your own week, with a private journal for anything you want to write about it. The journal is yours alone; nobody in the group sees it.

Join a group, or start your own

Search Discover for “meditation” to see the public groups already running, and join one in a tap. Private groups take an invitation, or a request the owner approves.

Or start your own in six short steps: name it (“Ten minutes a day”), pick a cover, set the level, choose the days, decide who can find it, and look it over. On the free plan you can run one public group and one private one, with room for twelve people in the private one. Invite people with a link, or let them find you in Discover.

Questions people ask

Does it guide meditations?

No. Use whatever you already use: an app, a timer, or nothing at all. WhereIsMyBuddy is for showing up to it.

Does a short sit count?

If your group says so. The owner can write it into the rules, for example “five minutes counts”.

Can we sit at the same time?

Yes. Start a shared session; others join, and when it ends everyone has a check-in ready to post.

Is this a mental health service?

No. It is a small habits app. If you or someone you know is having a hard time, the Resources page lists crisis lines and support services. Resources
