Habit groups

A workout group that notices when you show up

Training plans fail quietly. You skip Monday, Wednesday feels pointless, and by Friday the plan is gone. Nobody noticed, because nobody was looking.

A workout group on WhereIsMyBuddy is a few people who each said which days they would train. When you check in, they see it. When they check in, you see it. That is the whole mechanism, and it does more than it sounds like it would.

What a group can look like

  • Weekday strength

Weekdays, Committed. Forty minutes, any split, any gym.

  • Three sessions a week

Custom days, so the schedule matches your program and the rest days stay off.

  • Ten push-ups a day

Daily, Gentle. A floor habit for the days the full workout does not happen.

  • Home workouts with friends

A private group for the people you already train with, invite-only.

What a check-in looks like

A tap when you are done. Fitness check-ins can also log minutes, or distance for cardio. Put the session itself in a note if your group likes to swap routines; notes and photos stay with the members.

Today’s prompt

One member can set what the room has in front of it that day: a workout, a challenge, a single exercise to try. Everyone sees it when they open the group. It gives a quiet group something to start from.

Gentle or Committed?

Committed fits a program with fixed days. Five missed sessions in thirty days and you are out of the group for a week, then welcome back with a clean slate.

Gentle fits a habit you are rebuilding after time off, or a group where breaks are normal. A missed day resets your streak and nothing else.

Join a group, or start your own

Search Discover for “workout” to see the public groups already running, and join one in a tap. Private groups take an invitation, or a request the owner approves.

Or start your own in six short steps: name it (“Weekday strength”), pick a cover, set the level, choose the days, decide who can find it, and look it over. On the free plan you can run one public group and one private one, with room for twelve people in the private one. Invite people with a link, or let them find you in Discover.

Questions people ask

Does it count my reps or sets?

No. It counts that you showed up, plus minutes or distance if you want them. Put the details in a note.

Can my gym friends and I use it privately?

Yes. A private group is invite-only. On the free plan, a private group holds up to twelve people.

What if I am injured or away for a while?

On Gentle, a missed day only resets your streak. On Committed, misses count over thirty days, so choose Gentle for a group where breaks are expected.

Is it a workout app?

No. It does not plan your training. Bring your own program; the group is for showing up to it.
