Study with people who are studying too

Studying alone has one particular problem: there is always a reason to start in ten minutes. A study group on WhereIsMyBuddy takes some of the reasons away.

You set the days you will study and check in when you have done the work. The group sees it. On a hard day, a shared session helps: someone starts a timer, others join, and you work side by side from wherever you are.

What a group can look like

  • Two hours on weekdays

    Weekdays, Committed, for exam season.

  • Evening sessions

Someone starts a timed session at the usual hour, others join, and when it ends everyone has a check-in ready to post.

  • One module at a time

Custom days, for the online course you keep pausing.

  • Thesis group

Daily, Gentle, for a long project where any progress counts.

What a check-in looks like

A tap, plus a note if you want to say what you covered. Study check-ins do not carry a number, so nobody is racing anyone else’s hours.

Shared sessions

Shared sessions are made for this. Start a timed session, others join, and when it ends everyone has a check-in ready to post. It is the closest thing to sitting in the library together when you are not in the same library.

Gentle or Committed?

Committed suits exam season: five missed study days in thirty and you are out for a week, then back with a clean slate.

Gentle suits a long course or a thesis, where steady matters more than strict. A missed day resets your streak and nothing else.

Join a group, or start your own

Search Discover for “study” to see the public groups already running, and join one in a tap. Private groups take an invitation, or a request the owner approves.

Or start your own in six short steps: name it (“Two hours on weekdays”), pick a cover, set the level, choose the days, decide who can find it, and look it over. On the free plan you can run one public group and one private one, with room for twelve people in the private one. Invite people with a link, or let them find you in Discover.

Questions people ask

Is it a focus timer?

Shared sessions have a timer, but WhereIsMyBuddy is not a focus app. It is for showing up, with people who notice.

Can my class use it?

Yes. Make a private group and invite your classmates with a link. On the free plan, a private group holds up to twelve people.

Is it only for students?

No. Courses, certifications, a professional exam, a new skill. Anything you study.

Does it work if we are in different cities?

Yes. Everyone checks in from wherever they are, and shared sessions work the same from anywhere.
